Wendy Price Rainey
Resident of Huntersville, NC
Wendy Michelle Price Rainey, left this earth on September 27, 2006. She was born on March 7, 1968. Wendy was a childhood resident of Elizabeth City, moving away at age sixteen to Tampa, FL, most recently making her home in Huntersville, NC, with her loving husband, Martin Rainey and their son, Peter Maxwell Rainey. She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Clifford Price and grandparents, Pete and Faye Horton Price, and great grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. F.A. Byrd.
She is survived by her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles I. Jones, her mother, Shelia Jones Farmer, a sister, Emily Farmer Furst and husband James, a brother, Pete Blandon Price and wife Jennifer Lynn, an uncle, Charles Jones, Jr., and several nieces and nephews.
Wendy was a dental assistant for the last fifteen years, working in Tampa, FL, Greenville and Huntersville, NC. She was a Christian by faith. Wendy will always be remembered for her sensitive and caring nature, always remembering the special occasions in her loved one’s lives. She was a generous kind soul, a good friend, sister, daughter, wife, and a great mom. We love her so.
A graveside service will be held, Monday, October 2, 2006 at 1:00 pm at Old Hollywood Cemetery with the Rev. Mason Smith officiating. Thelma Shute
Thelma McKnight Shute, 70, of 106 McMorrine Street Apt. 4-7, Elizabeth City, NC, died Wednesday, September 27, 2006 at Martin General Hospital. She was born in West Chester, PA, the daughter of the late Wilbur and Martha Passmore McKnight.
Mrs. McKnight is survived by a daughter, Barbara Jean Bailey of Glen Mills, PA; two sons, Thomas McKnight and wife Bonnie of Elizabeth City, NC, and Buddie Hite, Jr. and wife Patti of West Chester, PA; a granddaughter, Christina McKnight, and a great granddaughter, Jasmine McKnight.

Morrison Staples
Morrison M. Staples, 81, 1404 Dermott Ave., Virginia Beach, VA, died Wednesday, September 27, 2006 at his residence. He was born in Camden, NC, the son of the late Keil and Maude M. Staples and was the widower of Annie O’Neal Staples.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served in WWII, and retired as a supervisor of the fueling field for the Little Creek Amphibious Base.
Survivors include his daughter, Ellen L. Staples and her husband Robert O’Meara of Virginia Beach, VA; a sister, Ramona Lawrence of Elizabeth City, NC.
A graveside funeral service will be held Friday September 29, at 2:00 P. M. at New Hollywood Cemetery in Elizabeth City, NC with the Rev. F. Joe Griffith officiating.

ART WILSON, 71 of Shiloh, NC died in the Albemarle Hospital, Thursday, September 28, 2006.

Donald Glenn Jones
DONALD GLENN JONES, 68 of Coinjock, NC died at his residence Tuesday, September 26, 2006. He was born in Currituck, the son of the late Albert Benjamin ‘A.B.’ ‘Casey’ and Marie Ackiss Jones and the husband of Mary Jean Cretella Jones. He was retired from the Currituck County ABC Stores after serving 33 years.
Other than his wife he is survived by two step-daughters, Teresa J. Wesner of Arizona, Susan M. Spruill of Coinjock, NC; two sons, Stanley T. Jones of Roanoke, Va. and D. Barry Jones of Elizabeth City; nine grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
The family is having a private memorial service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 404 Jessup Street, Elizabeth City, NC 27909.

Robert Wayne Bunch, age 59, o 3907 Caratoke Highway, Barco, NC, died Wednesday, September 27,2006 at Sentara Barco Nursing Center. Mr. Bunch, a native of Camden County, was the son of the late Dallas James Bunch and Mary Elizabeth Weeks Bunch. He was a member of Riddle Pentecostal Church.

John Matthew Cline
JOHN MATTHEW CLINE, 35, of Green Castle, PA, died, Tuesday, September 19, 2006. while vacationing on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. John was born in Hagerstown, MD and was a carpenter. He is survived by his parents Jack Morris and Catherine Ridenour Cline of Green Castle.
In addition to his parents surviving are his sister: Molly Davis and husband Vincent of Waynesboro, PA and his brother: Mark Cline of Smithsburg, MD.
A service of remembrance will be held Saturday, September 30, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. at Tri-State Fellowship 13153 Cearfoss Drive, Hagerstown,MD. Friends may join the family at the church from 6pm to 7pm. Jean Wood Walston
Jean Wood Walston, 81, of Elizabeth City, N. C. passed away September 24, 2006.
She was daughter of the late Paul Forbes Walston and Winnie Wood Walston. She was a former member of Corinth Baptist Church.
She was a graduate of the Peabody Conservatory of Music at Baltimore, MD., and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Survivors are many cousins including, Margaret Bright, Bettye Lou Murphy, Elizabeth Winder Parker and Henry Sharber.

Mayo “Diddi” Armstrong Boyce
Mrs. Mayo ‘Diddi’ Armstrong Boyce, age 88, of the 500 block of East Cypress Street, Elizabeth City, NC, died Friday, September 22, 2006 at the Albemarle Hospital. Mrs. Boyce, a native of Pasquotank County, was the daughter of the late Leslie Benjamin Armstrong and Mayo Williams Armstrong, and the widow of Frank Wood Boyce. She was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Boyce is survived by two sons, Leslie Armstrong Boyce of Wake Forest, NC, and Frank Wood Boyce, Jr., of Santa Barbara, CA; and a grand-daughter, Lela Boyce. She was predeceased by a daughter, Mayo Armstrong Boyce and a grandson, Cameron Boyce.
A graveside funeral service will be Wednesday, September 27, 2006, at 1:30 PM in New Hollywood Cemetery with the Rev. Mike Frese officiating. George W. Harris
George W. Harris, age 53, of 1437 Turnpike Road, Elizabeth City, NC, went to be with his heavenly Father, Friday, September 22, 2006 at the Albemarle Hospital. Mr. Harris, a native of Pasquotank County, was the son of Lorene Miller Harris of Avon, NC, and the late J. C. Harris, Jr., and the husband of Kathy Harrell Harris of the residence. He was a farmer, worked for Lowry Oil Company, and a member of Newland United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Men.
Besides his mother and wife he is survived by a daughter Dory Harris of the residence; a son Cody Harris of Kinnakeet, NC; two sisters, Pat H. Elliott and husband Ivie, and Carolyn Scott and husband Garland, all of Elizabeth City, NC; three brothers, J. C. Harris and wife Nancy, Tommy Harris and wife Brenda, all of Elizabeth City, NC, and Clary Harris of Avon, NC; and one grandson, Jordan Calvin Harris.
A graveside service will be Monday, September 25, 2006 at 3:00 PM in Memory Gardens Cemetery with the Rev. Toni Wood and the Rev. Dr. Susanna Fitch-Slater officiating. The family will receive friends following the funeral service at the cemetery.
