Anne Hutsko

Anne Hutsko

Anne Hutsko, 91, of Point Harbor, NC, died peacefully November 19, 2013. She was born June 12, 1922 in Pringle, Pennsylvania, to Emilio and Brandina Coradetti and was married for 43 years to Joseph Hutsko (deceased 1989), her high school sweetheart.

She is survived by daughters; Bernadette Holmes, Margaret Caswell and Paula Hutsko; sisters, Carrie Ritinski and Dody Furman, three granddaughters; Lesley Reidy, Laura Haddad and Alexandra Caswell, and six great grandchildren; Caroline, Kendall, Penelope, Aidan, Colette, and Roman.

Those who knew Anne treasured her for her optimistic outlook on life, her devotion to her family and strong Catholic faith. She loved music and was a choir member for many years, both at Sacred Heart Church in Luzerne, PA and Holy Redeemer by the Sea Parish in Kitty Hawk, NC. She was a lay clergy member of the Secular Franciscan Order. In her later years, she spent blissful hours in her rose garden, loved words and scrabble, reading and watching the latest movies. She was a wonderful cook, specializing in dishes reflecting her parents’ northern Italian heritage.

A funeral Mass will be held December 20th at Holy Redeemer by the Sea Catholic Church, followed by a memorial service to be announced. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.twifordfh.com.

Mrs. Hutsko was one of the sweetest ladies I knew. She was always smiling, such a happy and friendly person. She loved her coffee in the mornings I would always offer to get her some. Some mornings she would say “it’s okay I need my exercise today.” She was always so happy when her daughter was coming to take her out to eat she would get up early in the morning. I am so sorry for your loss. Your mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt… was such an amazing woman. She will be missed at sentara. I am so glad I had the pleasure of meeting her.

I’ll miss Annie. She was always a ray of sunshine. Good neighbors are hard to find and she was one of the best.

ANN WAS MY ROOMMATE AT BARCO FOR TOO SHORT A TIME. WE HAD WONDERFUL CONVERSATIONS ABOUT HOW THINGS USED TO BE. ONE THING SHE TOLD ME ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS, WAS HOW LUCKY SHE HAD BEEN TO HAVE A WONDERFUL LIFE SURROUNDED BY LOVE AND KINDNESS. SHE WAS SO PROUD OF “HER GIRLS” AND AIDEN BROUGHT HER MUCH JOY.
AFFECTION, AS SHE DESCRIBED IT. DOESN’T JUST HAPPEN … IT COMES BECAUSE OF A GIVING HEART.
PEOPLE COME INTO YOUR LIFE, SOMETIMES FOR ONLY A SHORT WHILE, BUT THEY LEAVE A FOOTPRINT ON YOU HEART. I WILL ALWAYS CARRY A LITTLE BIT OF YOUR JOY WITH ME.
