How sad I have been since hearing of the loss of Betsy. She will surely be missed by many, but no more than her beloved family. I know she was so happy since retiring and moving. How happy she was when her family and friends visited her. Remember she loved you all and she will watch over her family always. I remember many good times with Betsy, many smiles and laughter. I am sorry that I cannot attend the services, but will keep you all in my prayers and thoughts. My love to you all and smile when you look to the heavens.

One of the great pleasures of my career at Gap was working with Betsy and getting to know her as a friend. I remember the girls as youngsters, who were already so much like their mom. I was so terribly saddened to hear of her death. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. The world has lost a treasure.

I had the privilege and pleasure of meeting Betsy through curriculum work while we worked in Virginia Beach. She was such a delight to be around. My thoughts are with her family and friends at this difficult time. May the good memories you have of her sustain you in the days and weeks ahead.

I’m so sorry for your loss. I worked with Betsy @ Green Run HS and she was beyond a dear friend. We loved talking about our family and especially our granddaughters. The last time we were together, Betsy & Dan met Jeff and I at the Black Pelican for lunch and it was wonderful being together. My heart aches for all of you. Betsy loved the beach – walk on it and she will be with you always.

    To All of Betsy’s Family,
So many great memories of times spent together at HHS- when Betsy was a student there and then when we were colleagues in the English Dept. We had wonderful times celebrating birthdays and holidays in our little group. I know how happy she was at the beach; it’s where she found her true self. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Joe and I were very sad to hear about Betsy’s death. We’ll never forget the fun times we spent with your family on Oak Hill Drive and at Smith Mtn. Lake. She will be missed by many people – friends, family, and former students. As new grandparents, we especially regret that Sarah, Mary Beth and their children won’t get to spend time with her. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with your family.
