Betty Lindsley

Betty Irene Sowder Lindsley, 83 of 143 Rosedale Drive, Elizabeth City, NC died Monday, November 4, 2013 at Albemarle Hospital.  A native of Columbus, OH, she was the daughter of the late Elmer Sowder and Ethel Ruff Sowder.   She was a waitress for forty years at Cedar Villa Restaurant in Sandusky, Ohio.  She was a member of Towne South Church of Christ.

She is survived by two sons, Richard James Lindsley, Jr.,  and wife Cheryl of Elizabeth City, NC and Brian Lindsley and wife Debbie of Saline, MI; a sister, Virginia Perry of Port Clinton, OH; and three grandchildren, Brian Lindsley and wife Beth, Brad Lindsley, and Annie Lindsley.

A memorial service will be Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Twiford Memorial Chapel with Minister Ronnie Woolard officiating.  The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the funeral home lobby.  In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Mid-Atlantic Christian University, Lindsley Scholarship Fund, 715 North Poindexter Street, Elizabeth City, NC 27909.  Twiford Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 405 East Church Street, Elizabeth City, NC is serving the Lindsley family.  You may express condolences to the family by visiting
