I want to take this time to express to you sincere sympathy in the homegoing of Bobby. I grew up in Elizabeth City and I remember him well. His nephew, Richard, was my brother-in-law for many years. May you all find comfort in knowing that he graduated from this life to his eternal home where there will be no more tearful farewells. My prayers are being sent up for all of you.

  4. Tina Paul

I am very sorry to hear of Bobby’s passing.

We both were employed at the, then local Coca-Cola Bottling Plant, back in the old, old days. I still see some folks who worked there, when Bobby did, folks like Dempsey Teachey, brothers etc…. Mostly, just Dempsey when he is doing his supervisor’s route at the local stores, and sometimes, we reminisce about the GOOD OLD DAYS at Coca-Cola. When we all seemed to feel like “Family”…. We were young!

Never once did I see Bobby after the plant was sold, but memories of those days have survived. Like a 4th of July party at your house, Linda, that was so much fun….Your neighbor Bobby Wooten has been gone for years now…. But is still remembered by his daughters, every year they place a notice in the Daily Advance, in his honor and memory…. I am sure Bobby will be remembered just this way!

Just wanted to let you know, Linda, that the memories are not forgotten. Your husband was very special, such a kind, and sunny personality! AND funny!

You are in my thoughts and prayers. My own husband, Ed, passed away on 6/19/2009, and I only mention this to let you know how much I understand your own loss of your husband now…

God bless you and your family.

    Tina Paul

Bobby was more than a friend, he was always there when I needed someone to believe in me. He showed me how to get the best out of myself and others. He was always able to see the good in all people regardless of what the person was going through at the time. He will surely be missed and I am proud to say that I knew him and that the good Lord placed him in my life to become a better person through Bobby’s friendship. God Bless his family and friends for we will surely see him again.

Marlene, Linda, and Family. We are so sorry to realize Bobby’s Passing on Wednesday,June 26 2013. We were Blessed in having known both him and Linda through their Beautiful and Loving daughter,Marlene. He was truly a remarkable man,and we will surely miss any future “gatherings” we might have had with him and Linda. Marlene ALWAYS spoke of “her Daddy” with so much PRIDE & LOVE. We realized as soon as we met him that this was where she got her sweet and loving heart {as well as from Linda}.Our daughter Amy loved and respected him very much and many times related to us how funny, kind, and tenderhearted he was as well as how fond he was equally of her. May all of your memories of him be soon only good ones, and all of the painful ones subsided. May God hold him forever in His arms. We love you, Sandy, Wally, & David Vaughan

Linda, Marlene, Michele, BJ,and the boys,

I wish I could say the right words to ease your pain, but I know that’s impossible. I can only honor Bobby with words from my heart. He was the kind of man that all men should aspire to be. He loved you always,Linda, more than himself. You girls meant everything to him, and when he became a grandfather, he truly treasured you boys.
He was a constant, compassionate friend who always made me smile, and my children and I loved him more than a friend. Our children grew up together like siblings, and we were privileged to feel that special bond of family. Important events in my life and those of my children have been associated with Bobby Cooper right there. No man could have been a better husband, father, grandfather, or friend to all who were fortunate to have him in their lives. Thanks for the love and laughter.

May the great memories you’ve spent a lifetime building see you through this difficult time. All God’s Best…..

My prayers are with the entire family!! I met Bobby at Central High School when I entered the ninth grade and he was 3 or so years ahead of me. Age and grade meant nothing to Bobby Cooper! He seemed to like everyone around him. It has been many years since I have seen Bobby, but he will never be out of my mine. He was a great friend that could start all over as your friend after many years of absence. Again My prayers are for you all!!!
