Walter “Buddy” Allen, 74, died Thursday, October 31, 2013 in Kindred Care Nursing Center. He was born September 8, 1939 in Camden County to the late Walter Allen, Sr. and Clara Mae Hooker Allen and was the husband of Betty Jean Bright Allen. He was a retired commercial fisherman.

He is survived by three daughters, Yvette M. Allen of Elizabeth City, Teresa Spruill and husband, Sterling of Suffolk, VA and Angela Allen of Elizabeth City; two sons, Walter Allen III and Randy Allen both of Elizabeth City; two brothers, Johnnie Ray Allen and wife, Betty and Ronald Allen all of Elizabeth City and four grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister Doris Trueblood and a brother, Bruce Lee Allen.

Services will be conducted at a later date. Twiford Funeral Home, 405 E. Church Street, Elizabeth City, NC is serving the Allen family. Online memorial condolences may be sent to the family at www.twifordfh.com.

    Buddy Loved Life!! He taught me so much about fishing with nets, Hanging them repairing them, where to put them etc.
    Show & taught me about repairs on OB motors.
