Nicole, Matthew and Elizabeth – Words alone cannot express the sympathy that I am feeling on the untimely death of your Beloved Mother and the Love of My Life. To say that Carla’s time with us was far too short, is an understatement. The reality is that Carla will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her. I hope the outpouring of love and sympathy that you all have received from others, offers some consolation. May God Bless all of you and your family.

    I Miss You Carla-Eternal Love,
    Nathaniel Simmons

Mama meant so so much to me. I was as close to her as i was my own. She was the funniest, coolest, most understanding mama. She made everyone feel they were important and had something to give. She was so loving and helped me through some of the hardest times of my life. I’m so blessed to know her. Matty, Nicole, and Liz, I can’t tell you how sorry I am for your loss. I love all of you and will always be here for you. Peace and Strength!

Sissy, you had a heart of gold. You’re the only one who ever understood my humor; not that you thought I was funny, but you at least understood it. Don’t run too far ahead, we have other adventures to enjoy.

I’m going to miss you so.

  27. Debra Kambestad

I remember Carla from many, many years ago being a “dormie” at Nurnberg American High School and living at Graf. The fun years of high school, the short sheeting of beds, chasing each other with the water fire ext., long rides to and from school, eating “SOS” for breakfast, the proms…….these are my memories of your daughter, mother, sister, grandmother…I have! She will always be in our memories and in the hearts of those who loved her so! God bless you all and keep you strong during these hards times & the future!

  28. Pam Double

Sorry to hear about Carla. I knew her in Nurnberg. She was so fun loving. My prayers are with your family at this time.

  29. Lynn Tumey

My deepest condolence to the Leary and Audette families on Carla’s passing. Carla was my best friend when we first moved to Germany and were roommates in the dorm. It sounds like she remained the same vivacious, funny person I knew back then. Although my hope to see her again was not to be, we were able to reconnect through the Internet and for that, I am truly thankful. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.

The pain of loss is unmeasurable, the happiness of memories oh so sweet. I feel blessed to have known this beautiful woman. There were many of us…in Grafenwoehr who have those special times that we all carry with us to this day. I have the pleasure of returning to Graf because of my mom..who still lives there. I am always reminded of those wonderful days that included your daughter, mother, friend, sister. Remember her smile…her long hair, her humor. Someone I looked up too…was 3-4 years younger….but I REMEMBER HER FONDLY. Pam God Bless!

  31. Anita Briones London

She was a wonderful friend in high school. My prayers for the family. I always looked for her, missed talking to her. God bless and Love
