Casey Michael Rodriguez, 19, of Manteo, died Sunday, June 23, 2013 in Currituck.  Casey was a lifelong Manteo resident and a 2011 graduate of Manteo High School.  Casey was employed with Spencer Yachts and formerly employed with Piggly Wiggly in Manteo.

He was the son of Frank and Julie Daniels Rodriguez of Manteo. 

In addition to his parents surviving are his brother, Frank Scott Rodriguez of Manteo; Maternal grandparents, John and Connie Daniels of Wanchese; Paternal grandmother, Ella Rodriguez of Key West, FL; Paternal grandfather, Frank Rodriguez of Port St. Lucie, FL and Maternal great-grandmother, Julia Powell of Sun City, FL; Maternal aunt and uncle, Joey and Stacey Daniels, Chris and Felecia Daniels; and Paternal aunt and uncle Brian and Melinda Rodriguez and numerous cousins. Casey was predeceased by his brother, Timothy John Rodriguez and great-grandparents, Vernon Powell, J.T. and Betty Daniels, Chicho and Carmen Rodriguez and Levinia Dates.

A celebration of life will be in Twiford Colony Chapel, Thursday, June 27, 2013, at 6:00 p.m. by Rev. Steven Wescott. Burial will follow in Cudworth Cemetery. Friends may join the family at Twiford Funeral Home Wednesday from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

    Casey was a close friend of mine and I miss him so much already. It seems like just yesterday we were on our way to a band competition or in the front yard making a silly video for spanish class or just hanging out drawing pictures and lyrics on the wall. Ill never stop missing him. He was such a great guy and won’t ever be forgotten.

    Frank and Julie: Casey was a former student of mine at MES! All I can say is that he was always such an amazing kid with such a heart full of love and respect for all those he was around! I saw him about a week ago and told him how happy he looked and all he said was: Thanks Mrs.Christi I sure feel better since I’ve changed my life around! So awesome to hear! His smile will always be remember and your family will be remember in my prayers during this difficult time! I’m so sorry!! I prayer the peace of God will carry ya’ll through!

    I knew Casey when he worked at Piggly Wiggly and he was a very nice,polite young man.He was very helpful and always had a smile on his face.My heart goes out to you and your family. You will all be in my prayers.

    Casey was one of few friends i made when i moved to Manteo in 6th grade, We’ve been friends ever since middle school. I hope you all remember me because you invited me into your home with open arms an kindness, You even let me stay a few nights, I’ll never forget those days.. Casey is one of the funniest people I’ve ever meet. A great son, loyal friend an much more.. I’m more than devastated from this tragedy an lost of someone so special and close to our hearts, even tho his life has been cut short, his memory an kindness will stay with me as i journey through life.. My deepest sympathy goes out to all of you..

    My heart goes out to Casey’s family. He was an amazing person. He always made everyone’s day better no matter what problems we had going on. We went to school together and i can remember when he needed a ride home or if i saw him i would stop and pick him up. He was a really good friend. I will never forget Casey and all the great memories that i have with him. God has taken another amazing angel home. Casey we love and miss you.

    Casey was a good friend of mine. We went to school together and he always knew how to put a smile on my face.. I remember it just like it was yesterday he would sit in the library and talk to me and always made me laugh about silly things… I miss him so much!…and I can’t believe he is gone;( rest in paradise Casey!     Casey was the best person you could ask for he always had a smile on no matter what he barley let his pain show he is somebody you could count on with anything. Casey loved to joke around amd have a good time with everyone that loved him and who he loved but he is in a better place. Rip caseyy gone but never forgotten

    Casey was a sweet young man…I remember him at MHS when I’d come teach classesfor Hotline. I’ve been shopping at Piggly Wiggly forever, I really enjoyed Casey’s upbeat look on life as he processed my items. Curious about some of the not so common items I’d bring up…and a fabo smile.
