Charles “Chap” Rebuck, 86, formerly of Coal Township, PA, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on October 22, 2012.  Charles was born October 10, 1926 in Shamokin, PA.  He was the son of the late Harry Samuel and Mary Miller Rebuck.  Charles served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II on the destroyer USS Conway from 1944 to 1946.  Charles received the Pacific Theatre Ribbon, American Theatre Ribbon, Victory Medal and Philippine Liberation Ribbon.  Upon discharge he attended Pierce School of Business in Philadelphia, PA and became an accountant.  He worked as an accountant for Theron Conrad and PV Loan in Sunbury later retired after 20 years from Mohawk Flush Door Co as their accountant in 1991.  Charles was an avid fisherman and loved his sports. He was very instrumental in the Treverton Athletic Association and also president of Line Mount School Board in 1967. Charles was a member of First United Methodist Church in Shamokin, PA, a member of the Sunflower Club for years as well. He loved to travel after retirement and recently settled in Manteo.

Charles is survived by his wife, Beth whom he married on November 26, 1968; children, Troy and wife, Karen of Manteo, Susan Schirmer and husband, Jim of West Chester, PA; sister, Shirlie Bobby of York, PA; brother, Richard Rebuck and wife, Madeline of Clermont, FL; and grandchild, Emily Elizabeth. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brothers, Chester Rebuck, Jimmy Rebuck and Gilbert Rebuck. Charles was also survived by a special niece, Sherry Bobby and his brother in law, Fred Weaver and wife, Paulette.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Kelley Funeral Home, 1001-05 W. Arch St., Shamokin, PA on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at 4:00 pm with a visitation from 2:00 to 3:30 pm prior to the service.   Interment will be private.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, 102 Sunbury Street, Shamokin, PA 17872.
