Dorothy McPherson

Dorothy Davis McPherson, 95, died July 2, 2013 at Stanley Total Living Center. She was born in Elizabeth City, NC; daughter of the late Gardner Sawyer “Bruce” Davis and Lula Jennings Davis, and was preceded in death by her husband William Earl McPherson. She was a member of Berea Baptist Church in Elizabeth City, and attended Alexis Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son Bill McPherson and wife Betsy of Iron Station, a brother Calvin K. Davis and wife Sarah of Atlanta, Ga; two grandchildren Michael T. McPherson and wife Kristen, Amy M. Leophard and husband Tim; eight great grandchildren Laura and Madison McPherson, Gracie, Kylie Ann, and Ella Leophard, Michael, Eric , and Trent Ivester.

A Memorial service to celebrate the life of Mrs. McPherson will be held 3:00 p.m. Friday at Alexis Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Sandy Marks and Reverend Mack Pressley officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment will be in the Old Hollywood Cemetery Monday, July 8, 2013   at 11:00 am in Elizabeth City.
