Ervin Miller Farrow

Ervin Miller Farrow, 71 years of age, born November 11, 1941, passed away October 22, 2013, at his residence in Avon, NC.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Audrey O’Neal Farrow; 3 sons, Ervin Farrow Jr, Kermit Farrow, and Matthew Farrow, and wife Brittany, all of Avon NC; 1 daughter, Tabitha Farrow, of Kill Devil Hills, NC; 13 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; 1 brother, Leroy Farrow, and wife Barbara, and 1 sister, Mary Jane Scarborough, and husband Curtis, all of Avon, NC. He has many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by a grandson, Gabriel Farrow; his father Ervin Farrow; mother, Mable Meekins; stepfather Regenal Meekins, and a brother Charles Farrow.

Mr. Farrow is retired from the U.S Coast Guard as a E-9 Master Chief were he traveled to the North Pole, South Pole and around the world. He was also a Deputy Sheriff of Dare County, co-owner of Farrow Brothers auto shop, retired as shift manager of the NC Ferry Division at Hatteras NC and was on the Board of Directors at Cape Hatteras Electric for many years. He was a beloved church leader and did great work at St. John’s U.M.C in Avon NC. He was loved and respected by all that knew him. He is now gone to be with his Lord and Savior. He would say to you today “Hope to see you soon partner”.

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 25, 2013, at 1:00 pm, at St. John United Methodist Church in Avon, NC. A visitation will be held Thursday, October 24, at the church, from 6:30 to 8:00 pm.
