Harrel Stuart

Harrel E. Stuart, 83, of 771 Bells Island Road, Currituck, NC died Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at his residence. He was born on January 5, 1929 in Ashville, NC to the late Berge and Katherine Lankford Stuart and widower of Nell Johnston Stuart. Mr. Stuart was a commercial fisherman and worked for Texaco Oil Company.
He is survived by two daughters, Nancy S. Corbell and husband, Gary, of Currituck, NC and Kathy S. Davis of Kill Devil Hills, NC; one son, Watson Stuart of Currituck, NC; seven grandchildren, Angel Perry and husband, Chris, Tammy Glave and husband, Scot, Lynn Corbell, Heather Brewer and husband, Nick, Hunter Stuart and wife, Olivia, Amber Tice and husband, Cliff and Katelyn Taylor and husband, John; and numerous great grandchildren and a sister, Ruth Bray of Old Trap, NC. He was also predeceased by a sister, Sue Davis and a brother, Roy Stuart and two grandchildren, April and Karen Stuart.
Graveside Funeral services will be conducted Friday, October 19, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at the Snowden Cemetery, Maple, NC. The family will receive friends and relatives at Twiford Memorial Chapel Thursday evening from 7:00 until 8:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at the residence. Memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society Relay for Life, 930 B Wellness Dr., Greenville, NC 27834, designating Currituck County. Twiford Funeral Home, 405 E. We were very sorry to hear of Harrel’s passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.
Harrel will be greatly missed by all. He was a man of great character, a gentle, quiet, sincere man that we all loved and will greatly miss. We pray for all the family and friends for comfort and strength during this sad and trying time. I’m sure he is whole, happy and enjoying the company of his wife and those he loved that are greeting him in his new Heavenly home…this is not the end but the beginning of a new adventure “eternal life.”
