Hilda Bright

Hilda Meads Bright, 93, formerly of Meadstown Road, Elizabeth City, NC died Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at Winslow Memorial Home. Born in Pasquotank County, she was the daughter of the late George W. Meads and Mattie Cartwright Meads and was the widow of Melvin Edgar Bright. She was a homemaker and a Methodist.

She is survived by a daughter, Sally Marriner and husband Douglas of Elizabeth City, NC; and granddaughter, Elizabeth Bateman and husband Scottie of Elizabeth City, NC.

A graveside funeral service will be Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at West Lawn Cemetery with the Rev. F. Joe Griffith officiating. Twiford Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 405 East Church Street, Elizabeth City, NC is serving the Bright family. You may express condolences to the family by visiting www.twifordfh.com.

    I am so sorry for your loss. Although, I do not know your family personally, I would like to share some encouraging thoughts from the Bible. The Bible provides comfort during these difficult times. Revelation 21:3-4 states, And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away. Very soon now, we will never experience losing our loved ones in death. May these words give you a new hope.
