Hubert Bunch

Hubert Lee Bunch, 76, of 889 Berea Church Road, Elizabeth City, NC died Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at Guardian Care Nursing Home.  Born in Elizabeth City, NC, he was the son of the late Richard and Lillian Sawyer Bunch and was the husband of Ruth Pate Bunch of the home.  Mr. Bunch was a veteran, having served two years in the United States Army and five years in the United States Navy prior to being discharged as a Chief Petty Officer.  He later went to work as a clerk at the Norfolk Naval Air Station.  Mr. Bunch was a member of Parkway Temple Pentecostal Holiness Church.

In addition to his wife he is survived by a daughter, Judy Sharlene Palang and husband Joe of Virginia Beach, VA; a son, Reginald Lee Bunch of Elizabeth City, NC; a sister, Carolyn Daoust of Elizabeth City, NC; a grandson, Curtis E. Bunch; and a great-grandson, Stephen J. Bunch.

A funeral service will take place Monday, February 6, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Twiford Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Ernest L. Trueblood and the Rev. Roland Cooper officiating and military honors being rendered by the William Clarence Jackson VFW Post 6060.  Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. in Rosewood Cemetery, Virginia Beach.  The family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home and at other times at the residence.  Twiford Memorial Chapel, 405 East Church Street, Elizabeth City, NC is assisting the Bunch family.     I am so sorry I am sick and cannot visit or be at the services for Uncle Hubert. Please know that I love you and loved him and that I will keep you in my prayers as you go thru this difficult journey. George would love to see you all but he has procedure scheduled for Monday at 11:30 and will be out of commision Sunday. We love you. George and Vel

    I am sorry to hear about the passing of uncle Hubert but he is in a much better place my prayers go out to the family sorry i cant be there but will be thinking about youll.
