Joseph Edward Cavalcante, 58, of Spur Trail, Moyock, NC died at his residence April 5, 2018. Born March 18, 1960 to the late Vincent Cavalcante and Catherine Cervone Walter, he was the husband of Deborah Forrest Cavalcante. He was a general contractor in construction, a member of the Masons, Bayside, VA and a Shriner and member of the Khedive Temple Color Guard in Chesapeake, VA.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by one son, Vincent Joseph Cavalcante of Moyock, NC; and two sisters, Robin Rath (husband Bill) and Deborah Cavalcante (husband Walter).
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 15, 2018 at Moyock Baptist Church, 123 Oak Street, Moyock, NC with the Rev. Vic Ramsey officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Beloved Haven, P. O. Box 503, Moyock, NC 27958 or online at www.belovedhaven.org. Twiford Funeral Home, 405 E. Your father was a good decent man, he has been doing work at my home in South Mills for 12 years. I looked forward to seeing him pull up in the driveway with his van, he often had JB with him.
They would come totally prepared with lunch, and I would sometimes sit with them and just talk about everything. Joe was the best at what he did, his workmanship was second to none.
My wife Carol and I feel like we lost a family member, he was a gift from God and we will never forget him.
