Karen Lee Davieds

Karen Lee Davieds

Karen lee Davieds, 59, of Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina, passed away peacefully in the company of her husband, daughters, and grandchildren, on June 28th, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on November 26th, 1953, in Yonkers, New York, to Paul and Marion Onderdonk. She graduated from Nanuet, New York, High School in 1972, and was married to her husband, Michael Davieds, on December 9th, 1972. Karen served as a devoted Air Force wife and mother. During their 25-year career, Karen and her family resided in several locations in the United States and Europe, finally retiring in Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina, in 2004.

Karen loved the beach and was an avid collector of beach glass and shells. She also loved photography, gardening, her hummingbirds, traveling, festivals, motorcycle rides, family vacations, and many of other life’s pleasures. Above all, she loved and was devoted to her family and cherished her grandchildren as their “Oma”. She was a great friend to many and always placed the needs of others above her own.

Karen is survived by her husband, Michael; three daughters, Jennifer Eure, Jody Liesfeld, and Jamie Deibler; five grandchildren, Brian and Brice Eure, Raiden and Canon Liesfeld, and Zoey Deibler; sister Kathy Taylor, and siblings Paula, Rick, Mark, and Diane Haverly.

Two events are planned to honor Karen’s wishes. The first will be a memorial service held at Twiford Funeral Home in Manteo, North Carolina, on July 4th, at 5:00 PM. The second event will be her exact wish of having a celebration of life party, to be held in the near future. Dress at both occasions is comfortable casual/beach casual, again at her wish.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, in keeping with Karen’s deep care and concern for children with life-threatening illnesses.

Twiford Funeral Home, Manteo, NC is assisting the family with arrangements. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.twifordfh.com.
