Linda Rogerson

Linda Sanders Rogerson, 98, of Dry Ridge Road, Elizabeth City, NC died Tuesday, October 11, 2011 in the Winslow Memorial Home. She was born on October 12, 1912 in Elizabeth City, NC to the late James and Mary Ellen Brown Sanders. Mrs. Rogerson was the widow of the late Dennis Mack Rogerson. She was a member of Union United Methodist Church and the Marcie Albertson Extension Club.

She is survived by two daughters, Catherine R. Snyder of Elizabeth City, NC and Fay Elliott and husband, Carlton, of Hertford, NC; five sons, Jimmy Mack Rogerson, Ray Rogerson and wife, Irene, Thomas Rogerson and wife, Melvie Dean, Marshall Rogerson and wife, Jean all of Elizabeth City, NC and Michael Rogerson and wife, Darlene, of Hertford, NC. Also, surviving are 19 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren; a son-in-law, Ralph Sawyer of South Mills, NC and a special friend, Pat Markham of Elizabeth City, NC. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Marian Sawyer and Marilyn Rogerson and a sister, Gladys Turner.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, October 15, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. in Twiford Funeral Home, Memorial Chapel, Church Street, Elizabeth City, NC by Rev. Roland Cooper and Rev. Roger Braun. Burial will be in the Hollywood Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives Friday evening from 7:00 until 8:30 at the funeral home and also immediately following the chapel service in the lobby of the funeral home. The family will be at the home of Marshall and Jean Rogerson, 1676 Nixonton Road, Elizabeth City, NC. Twiford Funeral Home, 405 E. Church Street, Elizabeth City, NC is serving the Rogerson family.
