Lois Cartwright

Lois Marie Cartwright, 78, of 146 Carolina Road, South Mills, NC died Sunday, June 30, 2013 in Albemarle Hospital.  She was born June 17, 1935 and was raised by her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Turner and was the widow of Charlie Cartwright.

She is survived by a daughter, Debbie Walston and a son, Eddie Cartwright and wife, Jan all of South Mills, NC; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren:  Mary Anne Purcell and husband Cliff and their children Ryan and Jessica, Missy Sawyer and husband Michael and their children Colby and Logan, Kristin Brown and her daughter Ava, and Katlin Cartwright.  She was pre-deceased by a daughter, Christine Cartwright and a sister, Elouise Blake.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, July 3, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. in Twiford Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Frank Thigpen officiating.  Burial will be in the Memory Gardens Cemetery.  The family will receive friends and relatives Tuesday evening from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home and at other times at the residence.  Twiford Funeral Home, 405 East Church Street, Elizabeth City, NC is assisting the Cartwright family.  Condolences may be expressed to the family by visiting www.twifordfh.com.
