Louise Copeland

Louise Burgess Copeland, 90, of 400 Brite Avenue, Elizabeth City, NC died Monday, December 10,2 012 at the Albemarle Hospital.   Born in Camden, NC she was the daughter of the late James Burgess and Jobie Mitchell Burgess and the wife of Leroy Copeland of the residence.  She was a homemaker and a member of City Road Untied Methodist Church, and the Matoaca Council # 10 Degree of Pocahontas.

 Besides her husband she is survived by two daughters, Betty Jo Raby and husband Mervin and Patricia Wice and husband Mark all of Elizabeth City, NC; six grandchildren, Stacie Mason, Sherri Jones, Leslie Otts, Laura Murphy, Ben Albert, and Virginia Wasserberg; eight great grandchildren, former daughter-in-law, Margaret Colbert; sister-in-law, Juanita Kruger, and her caregiver, Catholene Cole.  She was pre-deceased by a son Jimmy Copeland.

 A funeral service will be Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at City Road United Methodist Church with the Rev. Charles McKenzie officiating.  Burial will follow in West Lawn Cemetery.   The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home on Tuesday, immediately after the service at the church,and at other times at the residence.  Twiford Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 405 East Church Street, Elizabeth City, NC is assisting the Copeland family.  You may express condolences to the family by visiting www.twifordfh.com.
