Margaret G. White, 91, of 205 Smith Drive, Camden, NC died Saturday, October 27, 2012 at Albemarle Hospital.  Born in Pasquotank County, NC, she was the daughter of the late William Joe and Annie Gray Godfrey and was the wife of the late Thomas Shelton White.  Mrs. White was retired from the Elizabeth City Cotton Mill.

She is survived by a daughter, Wanda JoAnn Becknell Tarkington of Elizabeth City, NC; two grandchildren, Billie Jo Hughes and LeRoy Parsells of Camden, NC and Larry White and wife Nicole of Elizabeth City, NC; five great-grandchildren, Christopher White, Michael Hughes, Matthew White, Mackenzie Parsells and Patricia Parsells; and numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. White was preceded in death by a son, Harvey Wesley Becknell, and her siblings.

A funeral service will take place Thursday, November 1, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Twiford’s Memorial Chapel with the Rev. F. Joe Griffith officiating.  Burial will be in Cedarwood Cemetery.  The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the lobby of the funeral home and at all other times at the residence.  Twiford Memorial Chapel, 405 East Church Street, Elizabeth City, NC is assisting the White family.
