Martin Powers

Martin Kurtis Powers, 50, of 358 Narrow Shore Road, Aydlett, NC, died Sunday, November 18, 2012 at Albemarle Hospital. Born in Norfolk, VA, he was the son of Marvin D. Powers and Mary Ellen Curling Angus.
Mr. Powers is survived by a son, Martin “Tater” Ray Powers of Virginia Beach, VA; five sisters, Pamela Gomez of NC, Kimberly Angus of NC, Charea Angus of NC, Angela Smith of VA and Amy Powers of Peru; a brother, Marvin Keith Powers of NC and a grandchild, Jaielle O. Powers of VA.
A memorial service will take place Friday, November 23, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at the residence, 358 Narrow Shore Road, Aydlett, NC. The family will receive friends at the residence. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the McConnell-Raab Hope Lodge, 930-A Wellness Drive, Greenville, NC 27834. Twiford Memorial Chapel, 405 East Church Street, Elizabeth City, NC is assisting the Powers family. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.twifordfh.com.

So sorry to learn of Marty’s death. I remember him as a young boy from when I lived in Aydlett. Wonderful and fun memories. Take care and know that he is not suffering anymore.
