Mary Luceba Godfrey Berry, 79, of 1453 Nixonton Road, Elizabeth City, NC died Friday, July 5, 2013 at her daughter’s home.  Born in Pasquotank County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Willie Riggs and Bessie Winslow Godfrey and was the wife of the late Willie Berry, Jr.  Mrs. Berry was a member of the Church of the Nazarene.

She is survived by two daughters, Ann Pierce and husband Wayne of Elizabeth City, NC and Kathy Lee and husband Tony of Merry Hill, NC; two sons, Wilbur Ray Berry and wife Brenda of Camden, NC and Freddie Berry and wife Gina of Elizabeth City, NC; two sisters, Wilma Rhodes of Nashville, TN and Margaret Breeden and husband Mac of Lancaster, SC; a brother, Willie Riggs Godfrey, Jr. and wife Mildred of Elizabeth City, NC; nine grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.  In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. Berry was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Nona Marie Berry.

A funeral service will take place Monday, July 8, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Twiford Memorial Chapel.  Burial will be in West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home; immediately following the service in the lobby of the funeral home; and at all other times at the residence.  Twiford Memorial Chapel, 405 East Church Street, Elizabeth City, NC is assisting the Berry family.
