Milburn McHorney

Milburn Zeff McHorney, 74, of 604 East Ridge Road, Shawboro, NC died Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at Chesapeake Regional Medical Center.  Born in Currituck County, NC, he was the son of the late Clarence and Queenie Swain McHorney and was the husband of Ruth O’Neal McHorney of the home.  Mr. McHorney had worked for twenty-five years at the Currituck ABC store before retiring as manager.

In addition to his wife he is survived by three step-daughters, Diana Pittman and husband Larry of Powell’s Point, NC, Kathy Scott of Greensboro, NC and Linda Steffin and husband David of Chesapeake, VA; two step-sons, Ray Douglas Brickhouse of Elizabeth City, NC and Felton Ray Brickhouse and wife Shellie of Barco, NC; a sister, Janet Corbell of Maple, NC; twelve step-grandchildren, numerous step-great-grandchildren; a niece and several nephews.

A memorial service will take place Saturday, February 18, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. at Church of New Beginnings, Moyock, NC with Pastor Vic Culberson officiating.  The family will receive friends at the residence.  Twiford Memorial Chapel, 405 East Church Street, Elizabeth City, NC is assisting the McHorney family.
