Mildred Addie Pritchard, 92, of Elizabeth City, NC, died on Friday, November 29, 2013 in a Nags Head nursing home.  Mrs. Pritchard was born in Riddle, NC, the daughter of the late Charlie Bray Riggs and Sallie Staples Riggs, and was a retired telephone operator.  She was a member of the Corinth Baptist Church and the Indian Ridge Chapter #319 of the Order of Eastern Star in Shawboro.

Mrs. Pritchard was preceded in death by her first husband, Benjamin Fentress Riddick and her second husband, William Robert Pritchard, and a son, Charles Benjamin “Benny” Riddick.

Mrs. Pritchard is survived by two sons, Sam Staples Riddick of Fredericksburg, VA and Roy Allen Riddick  of Manteo, NC;  a sister, Meddie Riggs Hooper of Elizabeth City, NC; five grandchildren, Charles B. Riddick, Jr., Michelle Riddick, Joseph Riddick, Jeff Riddick and Bethany Riddick; and nine great-grandchidren.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Twifords Memorial Chapel, 405 E. Church St., Elizabeth City on Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at 11:00 am with Rev., Dr. David Turner and Rev. Clay Manos officiating.  Burial will be held in West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery.  Memorial donations may be made to the Corinth Baptist Church 1035 U.S. 17 South, Elizabeth City, NC 27909. Twiford Funeral Home Manteo and Elizabeth City is assisting the Pritchard family with arrangements.  Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.twifordfh.com.

    I knew your Mom from the telephone company. We shared a lot of things there. I will keep you in prayer as losing a mother is a very hard thing.
