Jean Walston Mathews, 86, of Aydlett, NC died Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at Chesapeake Regional Medical Center.  Born in Norfolk, VA, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Mary Maude Bryant Walston and was the wife of the late Carson W. Mathews, Sr.  She dearly loved her family and will be greatly missed.  Mrs. Mathews retired as an Assistant Clerk of Court from the Currituck County Courthouse after ten years of service.  She was a dedicated member of Sharon United Methodist Church in Poplar Branch, NC.
