David H. Twiford, Jr., a native of Elizabeth City, NC, is the manager of the Twiford Funeral Homes in Manteo and Hatteras, NC. He has one daughter, Ragen Whitney Twiford and a son, Spencer Linwood Twiford. He is a 1992 graduate of Northeastern High School, attended NC State University, and has an Associate of Arts in Mortuary Science from John Tyler Community College in Chester, VA. He is a member of the North Carolina Funeral Director’s Association, Ramoth Gilead Baptist Church and the Improved Order of Red Men. His interests include golf and family. David Jr. lives in Dare County, which is very special, since his great grandfather, S.W. Twiford was a native of Dare County, having been born in Stumpy Point. David Jr. is the only Twiford associated with Twiford Funeral Homes that resides in Dare County where his great grandfather once managed the Twiford Funeral Home in Manteo.

Roy A. Riddick

Roy Allen Riddick, Assistant Funeral Service Manager in Dare County, is a native of Elizabeth City, NC and is a licensed North Carolina Funeral Director and Embalmer. Roy is married to Capria (Cap) and they have a daughter, Bethany. Roy is a graduate of Gupton Jones College of Mortuary Science and College of the Albemarle. He is an active member of the International Church of the Assemblies of God Church. Roy joined Twiford Funeral Homes in February 1978 and his interest include music, reading and several sports.

Jeanette Deal

Jeanette Deal, Office Manager and Preneed Facilitator in Dare County, is a native of Miller County, GA. Jeanette is married to Paul and they have two children: Josh Deal and Kristen Deal Frost and four grandchildren, Claire Frost, Ella Frost,Maddox Deal, and Harper Deal. Jeanette is a graduate of Colonial High School in Orlando, FL and attended Fayetteville Technical College in Fayetteville, NC and the College of the Albemarle. She is a member of the Ark International Church of the Assemblies of God Church and her interests include crafting and cooking. Jeanette joined Twiford Funeral Homes in 1988.

Chandler Olsen

Chandler R. Olsen, a native of Hamilton, MT, has been with the firm since early 2011. He is a graduate of Hamilton High School in 2001, Brigham Young University-Idaho in 2009, and graduated with honors from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science in 2010, where he earned his Bachelor of Mortuary Science degree, and was awarded the A.J. Russler Memorial Award for Outstanding Achievement in the Art of Embalming. He is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, the Outer Banks Anglers Club, and the Network for Endangered Sea Turtles (N.E.S.T.). During his free time he can be found fishing off a pier or from the surf.

Lauris Etheridge

  Lauris Etheridge is the Maintenance Supervisor for Dare County. He is a native of Wanchese, NC and is married to Delia. They are the parents to George, Jessie and Sophia. Lauris is a graduate of the Wanchese Christian Academy. He is a member of the Manteo First Assembly of God Church. His interests center around his church and family. Lauris joined the staff in Manteo in 1984.

Ken Fitzgerald

Kenneth A. Fitzgerald, a native of Virginia Beach, Va, Kenneth is married to Lorie and they have two children, daughter Annie and a son Jordan. He recently retired from Dare County EMS as a North Carolina certified Critical Care Paramedic/Supervisor. A graduate of Bayside high school in Virginia Beach, Va, he attended the College of the Albemarle, also attended the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta Ga. Kenneth is currently serving his apprenticeship while going to Fayetteville tech for his funeral service license. Kenneth and his family attend the Coastal family Church in Nags Head.

Rodney Ballance

Rodney Ballance, Sr. is a Funeral Assistant. He was born in Hatteras, NC. Rodney is married to Ann and they have three children: his two sons, Rodney Jr. and Terry and his daughter, Susan Wood. He is active in the community being a member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church and serving on the church board. Rodney is past president of the Manteo Lions Club, and Deputy Chief with the Manns Harbor Fire and Rescue Squad. He is a graduate of Elizabeth City High School and Fire Training at the College of the Albemarle. Rodney also enjoys woodworking in his spare time. He joined the Twiford Funeral Homes in 2005.

Roger Barnett

Roger Barnett is a Part-Time Funeral Director Assistant serving Manteo. Roger is a native of Wanchese, having been born in 1950. He and his wife Barbara were married in June of 1970; they have 3 children: Eric (and his wife Regina), Joshua and Karla (and her husband Woody) and 2 grandchildren: Victoria and Brittany. Roger is the Pastor for the Manteo Church of God of Prophecy. He is a Regional Overseer with the N. C. Church of God of Prohecy and is affiliated with the Manteo Ministerial Association. He enjoys coin collecting, fishing and traveling. Roger joined the Twiford organization in 1997.
