Paul Pell, Jr

Paul Edward Pell, Jr., 69 died Saturday, September 7, 2013 at the Brian Center in Hertford, NC.  He was a native of Shawboro, NC, and was the son of the late Paul Edward Pell, Sr., and Cornie Mae Stallings Pell.   He was reared in Providence Baptist Church, Shawboro, NC, but recently attended Woodville Baptist Church, Woodville, NC.  He served in the U.S. Navy and retired from the Norfolk Naval shipyard in Portsmouth, VA.

He is survived by two sisters, Sally P. Morris and husband Aubrey of Elizabeth City, NC, and Betty Marie Kight and husband Joseph of Shawboro, NC; nieces, Kim Underwood and husband John of Elizabeth City, NC, Paula Drake and husband Dan of Boise, Idaho, Belinda Stallings of Richmond, Jessica and Holly Franson, Ava Morris; nephews, Kevin Morris and wife Lisha of SC, Kolby, Kyle and Kaden Underwood, Adam, Jonah and Jacob Kight; uncle and aunt Sidney and Gladys Stallings of Belvidere; and several cousins.  He was pre-deceased by a sister Ella P. Stallings, a brother-in-law Melvin Stallings, and a nephew Joseph Weldon Kight.

A funeral service will be Monday, September 9, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Twiford’s Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Steve Freehan and the Rev. Charles Wellons officiating.  Burial will be in West Lawn Cemetery.  Memorial donations may be made to ones favorite charity.  Twiford Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 405 East Church Street, Elizabeth City, NC is serving the Pell family.  You may express condolences to the family by visiting
