Raymond Richard Edinger, 96 of Liberty, NC died Sunday, October 8, 2017, at his residence. He was born January 23, 1921, to the late Paul Carl Edinger and Evelyn Edinger and was the widower of Virginia Cartwright Edinger. He was a retired from the Naval Electronic Systems as a Metrology Officer, a U.S. Coast Guard/Navy Veteran of WWII, and a member of The First Baptist Church.
He is survived by a daughter, Nancy Edwards and husband George; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister, Violet; two brothers, Paul and Don; wife, Marjorie McKinney Edinger; and daughter, Kerry Edinger.
A funeral service will be Saturday, October 14, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. at Twiford Memorial Chapel with the Rev. F. Joe Griffith officiating. Burial will follow in Fulford Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
