Robert Boyce

Robert Emmett Boyce, Sr., 76 of 681 Poyner’s Road, Moyock, NC died Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at the Currituck House. A native of Halifax County, NC, he was the son of the late John Franklin Boyce and Mary Keeter Boyce and the widower of Joyce DeForest Boyce. He was a foreman in the paint/carpenter shop for the Chesapeake School System and a member of Fellowship Baptist Church.

He is survived by three daughters, April Laverne Corrnett and husband Jimmy of Dinwiddie County, VA, Lisa Jane Smichnick and husband Darell of Knotts Island, NC, and Robin Marie Lake and husband Todd of Moyock, NC; two sons, Robert E. Boyce, Jr., of Moyock, NC and Clarence Luther Harrell, III, of Dinwiddie County, VA; a sister, Geneva Wilson of Williamsburg, VA; one brother, John R. Boyce of Chesapeake, VA; nine grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by two brothers, Gary F. Boyce and Wray Boyce.

A memorial service will be Saturday, September 21, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Twiford’s Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Wayne Sawyer officiating. The family will receive friends in the funeral home lobby immediately after the service. Memorial donations may be made to NC Hunters for the Hungry, PO Box 99108, Raleigh, NC 27624.
