Ronald Etheridge

Ronald Clay Etheridge, 78, of Belvidere, NC died July 11, 2013.  He was born in Pasquotank County, NC the son of the late Ludford Roosevelt Etheridge, Sr. and Mary Ferrell Etheridge, and was preceded in death by his wife Marian Chappell Etheridge. He was a Veteran having served in the United States Army during the Korean conflict and was stationed in Germany.  He was a Master barber and business owner of Ron-E’s Plaza.

Mr. Etheridge is survived by a son Ronald Clay Etheridge, II and wife Socheathiya  of Belvidere, two daughters, Ronda Aley of Middlesex, NC and Vonda Morrisette, of Bailey, NC; a sister, Donna Etheridge of Elizabeth City; two brothers Donald Etheridge  and wife Jean  and Ludford “L. R.” Etheridge all of Elizabeth City; seven grandchildren Amie King, Trenton O’Neal, Tana Aley, Sierra Morrisette, Makayla Etheridge, Alex Etheridge and Julia Etheridge and one great grandchild James  Smith.   In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by a grandchild, Michael Morrisette, Jr.

A funeral service to celebrate the life of Mr. Etheridge will be held 2:00  p.m. Monday, July 15, 2013 at Twiford Memorial Chapel with Pastor George Wilmor officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Twiford Funeral Home.  Flowers are welcomed or memorials may be made to the American Lung Association of North Carolina, P. O. Box 27985, Raleigh, NC  27611.  Twiford Funeral Home, Memorial Chapel, 405 E. Church Street, Elizabeth City, NC is assisting the Etheridge family.  Online condolences may be shared at
