Condolences for the family of “Russell Rupert”

  1. Tina Paul on October 30th, 2013 6:38 pm

My sincere sympathy on the loss of your brother. I realize I am a total stranger to the family…. So allow me to let you know why I am writing…

My husband, Eddie Paul, was at USCG/ARSC, for years and years… Eddie died in 2009. But even after his retirement, he always spoke very fondly of Mr Frap, his boss.

And to add to this, when Eddie and I bought our lots here, on Little River, in Pasquotank Co., Mr Frap came by and assured us that the lone, old cypress tree sitting in the very center of the lot, could be removed, with no trouble at all…. Mission accomplished. Never gave that tree another thought, until Ed and I visited Mr Frap and Lillian down on Hatteras…… Where our useless old cypress graced most of the walls. Neither one of us had any idea, until then, how to incorporate existing resources into a house being built…. So, good lesson learned! We did that ourselves, though, afterwards.. Happy to learn from Mr Frap… Waste not, want not… Etc.
Ed also knew Donald and Lillian. And I also remember Ruth Ann’s artistic skills….. To this day. Tina Paul
