    God saw Shirley getting tired
And a cure was not to be,
So He put His arms arond her
    and whispered, “Come with Me”.

    With tearful eyes
    We watched her,
    And saw her pass away.
    Although we looved her dearly,
We could not make her stay.

    A golden heart stopped beating,
    Hard working hands at rest.
    God broke our hearts
    To prove to us,
    He only takes the best.

    Love, thoughts and prayers,

    Millie and Don Sweetenham

My thoughts and prayers are for each of you and may you celebrate a life well lived through many hardships, and always with a smile. A remarkable businesswoman, wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all. I was blessed to know her in all of those capacities, know how many she and Gene touched, and can only imagine how much she will be missed. God bless you Shirley at your Heavenly reunion.

Please accept condoloences from my wife Harriett and me. Shirley (and Gene) were two of the finest, most decent people I hsve known in my five decades in this community. I have no doubt that she has gone on to eternal life and that she has joined Gene there. The Lord be with you all.

The days are forever intertwined in the memories of those you leave behind. So she will not be forgotten. In the growing up years Shirley was always the leader among the neighborhood’s children; thinking of new ideas and keeping everyone moving towards accomplishments, even in play. May each remember also her interest and excitement for living and achieving as you mourn her passing.
