Shirley Young

Shirley Anne Young, 80, of 803 Tulls Creek Road, Moyock, NC died Thursday, February 7, 2013 at her home. Born in Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Charles Thomas and Harriett Byrum Windley and was the widow of the late Louis Jackson Young, Sr. She was a homemaker and loved her family.
Mrs. Young is survived by her daughter, Debra Rose and husband William of Currituck; a sister, Carole Skeens and husband Bobby of Aulander, NC; a brother, Wayne Byrum Windley and wife Patty of Portsmouth, VA; four grandchildren, Nikki Slagle, Jamie Rose, Paige Hillis and Casey Kolar and three great grandchildren, Jacob Kolar, William Slagle and Jacob Slagle. In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Dr. Louis Jackson Young, Jr., a grandchild, Kristi Rose and a brother, Carlton Ray Windley.
A cryptside service will take place Monday, February 11, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens, 4569 Shoulders Hill Road, Suffolk, VA with Rev. F. Joe Griffith officiating. Twiford Memorial Chapel, 405 East Church Street, Elizabeth City, NC is assisting the Young family. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.twifordfh.com.
