Stacey Raines

Stacey Lee Raines, Jr., 74 of 106 Harrell Street, Elizabeth City, NC died Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at his residence.  Born in Hawaii, he was the son of the  late Emily Kaimi and  Stacey Lee Raines, Sr. and was the husband of the late Barbara Davenport Raines.  Mr. Raines was an avid hunter and fisherman and had been a member of the Tull’s Creek Hunting Club.

 He is survived by two daughters, Cathy Ambrose and husband Hubert and Carol Temple of Elizabeth City, NC; three sons, Donald Temple and wife Linda of Camden, NC, Aubrey Temple and Levi Temple of Elizabeth City, NC; a sister, Jacquelyn Pualani of Kauai, HI; three brothers, Ronald Dee Raines and wife Cathy of Morristown, TN, Edward Lee Raines and wife Judy of Sacramento, CA and half-brother Davey Sugabo of Wilmington, CA; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.  In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by sons, Richard Temple and Mike Temple; a brother, James Kaimi Raines and a sister, Donna Johnson. He was also preceded in death by his  step-mother, Dorothy Mae Steffen Raines.

 A graveside funeral service will be held Saturday, November 3, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in New Hollywood Cemetery with military honors rendered by the William Clarence Jackson VFW Post 6060.  The family will receive friends Friday evening at Twiford’s Memorial Chapel from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m.   Twiford Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 405 East Church Street, Elizabeth City, NC is serving the Raines family.  Condolences may be expressed to the family by visiting
