Stanley Meekins

Stanley Everrett Meekins, 62, of Buxton,  went to be with The Lord  on Friday, January 25, 2013 at the Outer Banks Hospital, Nags Head.  Mr. Meekins was a convenience store manager and served his country honorably in the U.S. Army.

He was the son of the late Luther Hall and Ila Lee Miller Meekins and the husband of the late Virginia O’Neal Meekins.

Surviving are two daughters, Stacy M. Davis and husband Timmy of King William, VA and Crystal Meekins of Buxton; three sisters, Shirley Silver of Avon, Mary Wilson of Water Town, TN and Rita Mcpherson of Homosassa, FLA; two brothers, Luther Meekins, Jr and Winifred Meekins both of Buxton;  three grandchildren Christian Meekins, Ivey Austin and Brittny Austin; and special friends, George and Ann O’Neal. Mr. Meekins was preceded in death by his sister, Rhoda Ann Gray.

A service of remembrance will be Monday, Janauary 28, 2013 in St. John’s United Methodist Church at 11:00 a.m. by Rev. Roger Barnett and Rev. Roger Dill.

Twiford Funeral Home, Hatteras is assisting the family.
