Trish Midgett

Manteo, NC

Patricia “Trysh” Ann Midgett, 48, of Manteo, N.C. passed away on the 20th of July 2013.  She was born to Addie Peterson Pridgen and the late Harry Wilburn Pridgen Sr. in New Bern, N.C. on April 21, 1965.  Trysh graduated from Topsail High in Hampstead, N.C. She married Arthur Louis Midgett, Jr on August 22, 1987. They resided in Skyco, N.C.

Trysh had a love for Southwestern native American culture and she loved her horses.  She was an avid horseback rider and was usually found at the stables with her horse, Lakota. Trysh was the most outgoing, loving, and understanding person you could ever meet and if she didn’t like the way something was going or went she would definitely let you know.  She was strong and determined to make sure things were always okay.

Trysh is survived by her husband Louis Midgett; her mother Addie Pridgen; her two children Chayse and Mikayla; her two step-sons Tres and Matthew Midgett; her siblings Harry Pridgen, Jr., Richard Pridgen, Michelle Knighton; also by her five nieces, one nephew, and five step-grandchildren.  Trysh also had two beloved pets, her horse Lakota and her late terrier, Tinkerbell.

A service of remembrance will be in Twiford Colony Chapel, Saturday July 27, 2013, at 3:00 p.m. by Rev. Andrew White.  In lieu of flowers the family is requesting that all donations please be made to either the National Kidney Foundation, 4701 Hedgemore Drive, Suite 810, Charlotte, N.C. 28209-0020 or the Corolla Wild Horse Fund, 1129 Corolla Village Road, Corolla, N.C. 27927.

Such special memories of a special friend….camping with Cub Scouts. Trysh certainly was an asset to that program in Manteo and loved time spent off with Chase and the other scouts. She made Richard Jackson’s job as cubmaster so much easier and blessed us with her willingness. Prayers and sympathies to the family.

Knew Trish as a young girl. Very loving and accepting of all people. Even people different than those she grew up around. Even accepting of people that her family may have been reluctant to accept or be kind to. I’m so stunned to hear of her passing. Way too young. Sounds like she was raising two beautiful children. She and her sister were examples of tolerance despite social pressures. May God bless them both…always and forever.
