Vasilios Malatos, 81, of Kill Devil Hills, NC died Friday, March 2, 2018, at his home. Born April 11, 1936, in Greece, he was the son of the late Sofrina and Dionyius Malatos.
Vasilios was the owner and operator of Malatos Construction Company. Known from his green thumb, he took great pride in his greenhouse and lemon trees. He loved to be outside enjoying nature.
Vasilios is survived by his wife, Petroula Fountas Malatos; daughter, Sofia Brown (Samuel) of Kill Devil Hills; three grandchildren, Theodore Malatos of Cary, Dionysia Brown of Kill Devil Hills and Chance Brown of Nags Head; one great-grandchild, Nova Jolliffe of Kill Devil Hills; two goddaughters, Emilia Bakopoulos and Aristea Bakopoulos both of Northern Virginia; a sister, Voula Malatos of Greece; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Dionysia Malatos.
A funeral will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, March 8, 2018, at Twiford Colony Chapel with Rev. Thomas Wilson officiating.
