David,
You’re in my prayers. The last thing your mama said to me was how happy she was that I was teaching her Sunday School class and that I did a great job. God smiled when she arrived this past Sunday and congratulated her on a job well done bringing people to Jesus. She will be missed.

Love you brother,
Justin Bateman

While my heart is sad for those that loved and will miss her, I am happy for her. Miss Barbara is receiving the rewards of her faithfulness to our Lord. Likely I and many others, would not have come to know Him without her faithful devotion and service. Many thanks Miss Barbara. Enjoy the rest.

Condolence from William Holliday on May 5th, 2021 5:44 am

David,

Mo and I could never say enough about the goodness of your mom. She was wonderful in so many ways. During our six years at Bethany, she was such meaningful part of our lives. She was especially close to our son, Matthew, who spent many hours with her. Just as importantly were the many, many lives she touched. No one else touched the lives of so many like Ms. Barbara. Her gentle kindness and non judgmental Christian heart spoke of her love for everyone. She was truly a saint among saints and a witness of what means to be Christlike. Pastor Bill Holliday

Wanchese and Bethany will never be the same without her. Praise God, we will see her again one day!! That’s the best part, but oh, she is going to be missed by many! Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers!

Condolence from Mrs. John H. Smith (Margaret) on June 7th, 2021 3:46 am

Dear David, So sorry to hear about your Mother’s passing. We had left many messages on her home phone, but figured she had gone to visit her sister during the pandemic. She and you were in our prayers every day. We loved visiting the OBX and visiting with your Mom and Dad. John loved talking about their time together in the USCG in Yorktown. We will miss seeing your parents and have very fond memories of your whole family. May precious memories comfort us all in the years to come. Love, John and Margaret Smith.
