Rodney & Wiley,
I have known Betty for so many years, as we were in the Legal Secretaries Association in Elizabeth City, at the same time. She always carried an infectious smile and was such a sweet, loving individual. May you find condolences in the memories she shared with you and in knowing she is no longer suffering with the health issues she’s endured over the past several years. R.I.P. Betty. You will always be in my heart.

Rodney, please accept my condolences on your loss of Betty. She was such a brave person, carrying on with a big smile after her loss of a foot. She always had a sweet smile, though at first I thought she was kinda snooty. That was proven false after better acquaintance. I pray for your peace of mind and comfort. Love, Mary

Condolence from Donald K. Alexander on January 4th, 2020 9:15 pm

Rodney, Wiley, and Family,
I hated reading about Betty’s passing. My computer has a glitch in it, and I can’t send nor receive emails. Betty and I use to have some long talks about her parents health issues. As you all know she was a caring person. Professionally, she did things once and did them right the first time. Miriam and I will have each of you in our thoughts and prayers.

Condolence from Sheila Tyler on January 4th, 2020 9:53 pm

Rodney and family,
I had the pleasure of working with Betty many years ago when she was the District Court Judges secretary and then when she worked with Community Service. Always found Betty to be professional and a lot of fun. One day cleaning out the vault I came across her notes (in shorthand) from court cases. I smiled thinking that the younger staff members in my office wouldn’t have a clue what she had written. Have not seen her since I retired (2010) but, thought about her a lot and the fun we had working together.
May your memories sustain you in the days and weeks to come.
Blessings,
Sheila Tyler( retired Clerk of Superior Court, Curtituck County)
