Bonnie Dale Winslow, 71, of Manteo, left this world from where her heart longed to be and in God’s time on Thursday, January 6, 2022 after a courageous battle with cancer. Bonnie was born in Elizabeth City, NC on January 4, 1951. She is survived by her brothers William Winslow (Deborah) and her twin brother Robert Winslow, of Chocowinity, NC.

After graduating from Elizabeth City High School in 1969, she was employed by Carolina Telephone Company until the closing of the Manteo office. She then worked for Dare County Social Services until her retirement in 2013. While working full time, Bonnie attended College of the Albemarle where she received the COA Outstanding Computer Award and earned an Associate in Applied Science Degree in 2001.

Bonnie loved living in Manteo; she enjoyed reading, taking long walks and being on the beach. Left to cherish her memory, a host of close friends, including members of the Class of ‘69, Carolina Telephone Company, Dare County Social Services and Manteo Baptist Church.

A memorial service for Bonnie Winslow will be on Saturday, May 7, 2022, at 2:00 pm at the Old Swimming Hole in Manteo, NC.

Bonnie I met you at DSS office in 1998 and since then we became a good friend.
I will keep all these memories in my heart:
Going out lunch with you , walking to Wright Brothers Monument and visiting each other p;aces. Also, we run into each other at OBX hospital and parking lot and catch up things.
You will surely be missed . May your soul rest in peace.

So sorry to hear about Bonnie. I took classes with her at COA and she was always laughing and had a bubbly personality. If we would run into each other out an about she would always speak and catch up on what was going in life and with family. Haven’t seen her in a while but I know she will be missed. Condolences to the family,

Condolence from Denise Goodale on January 11th, 2022 5:13 pm

I first met Bonnie many years ago in a local exercise class.
In recent times I have spoken with her on several occasions and gotten to pray with her often. Even when it was obvious that she was struggling she always kept an upbeat and positive outlook.
I was truly sorrowful to see that she passed . My condolences to her family.
