Chester was/is one of the most loveable person that we ever met. The world would be a lot better place if we had more people like him. Remembering one of the last conversations I had with him. It started out with about a 5 second discussion about his arthritis and then went on for another 5 or 10 minutes talking about the kids. Not just mine but ones we both knew and had watch grow up. I think he knew the name of about every kid that went thru the Cape Hatteras school system, especially those that played sports. Yes he was a great MAN.
Tiffany and family: We were so sorry to hear about Chester. Ed enjoyed working with him at Dillons for several years and I will always remember his love for the kids and how we used to talk about what all they were doing when I worked at the school. One of the first times I met him I remember him offering me something to eat out of a “box of dog biscuits”!!!! It was just a potato chip not a dog biscuit but we had lots of laughs from that experience. Love and prayers to you all at this difficult time and remember God is always there to support us in this time of need.
Chester was a mighty fine man and friend. His smile and sense of humor will always be remembered. When God created Chester Britt the mold was one of a kind. His presence will be missed here but his memory will never be forgotten. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of his mighty fine family.
So Sorry for your loss! Thoughts and prayers to all the family!
I am so sorry to hear of Chester’s passing. He was in the navy with my step father and the rest of our family got to know him during our vacations in Buxton. In 2005 my daughter was 7 and she won the youth individual tournament. I have a photo of her and Chester making “blow fish” faces together. He always brought a smile to our faces! We send our condolences from Elkins, WV.
Words can’t express the sadness we feel for you losing Uncle Chester. I know he loved all of you dearly & wouldn’t of had it any other way. You were his life & his strength! He will be greatly missed & our Thoughts & Sympathy are with you at this time.
It breaks my heart to here about Chester. If my sister and I ran across Chester he would always say HEY Bobbsey Twins. My heart and prayers go out to y’all at this hard time.
Chester will be greatly missed, but his legacy of loving life is a memory for all. My adventures with Chester go back to the 70’s with the park service. His joy was working with children and oh the stories he could tell about ‘fishing with a ranger.’
Thanks for sharing and caring for others. Yogi.
Little Boo Boo
I was heartbroken to hear the news. Uncle Chester was so kind to me. I worked as a bus girl at Quarterdeck during high school. We would talk almost every night at his special table. He called me “Martina” because I played tennis and always wanted to hear all about it. Everyone who met him received an extraordinary blessing. Please accept my condolences. He will be sorely missed.
