Christopher Wade Ward, 34, of Elizabeth City, NC died on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at his home. He was born on October 20, 1987 to William Fletcher Lewis and Tammy Lynn Cooper Ward and was raised by his mother and adoptive father, David Ward. He worked as a security guard and loved working out at Planet Fitness. Chris was an avid body builder and planned to open his own gym.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his fiancé Courtney Davis; daughters, Taylor, Caressa and Carmen; sons, Brayden, Malachi and Jaxon; sisters, Mckenzie Umphlett of Auburn, GA, Amber Ward of Lumberton, NC, Jani Smith of Camden, NC, Jessica Smith of South Mills, NC and Raven Lewis of Camden, NC; brothers, Brandon Cox (Tamara) of Hertford, NC, Matthew Umphlett of Camden, NC, Hunter Ward (Nicole) of Lumberton, NC, and Johnathan Ward (Bobbie) of Elizabeth City, NC; his father’s wife, Christi; his mothers husband, David; maternal grandparents, Colon and Kathy Cooper; paternal grandparents, Shirley Horne and Bill and Betty Lewis; aunts and uncles, CJ Cooper (Roberta), Evelyn (Jeff) Newbern, Misty Seabury, Kelli Dycus (Gary) and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, June 30, 2022, 11:00 a.m. at Fountain of Life Church, 1107 US 17, Elizabeth City with Pastor Hans Hess officiating.
