Clarence leaves quite a legacy for all Sanders. I did not know him as I moved from Elizabeth City at a young age. It would have been a joy to have had the opportunity to talk to him about his life’s work and interests. Now when I look at the night sky in all its beauty I will think of him.
My grandparents was Henry Wilson Sanders, Sr and Mary Sanders. In my young years, my father would tell me stories of The Sanders Company and the Shipyard in its heyday.
My you be comforted by the beautiful legacy he leaves and fond memories. I love to visit the Albemarle museum and now know the work and dedication Clarence gave to the community.
Clarence was a good neighbor and will be missed. We only saw him occasionally but thoroughly enjoyed conversing with him when he could be outside enjoying his Purple Martins and the Pasquotank River. Prayers to his family.

My wife Karen and I enjoyed meeting Clarence in his and my later years. He and his wife were so welcoming, and we enjoyed a big lunch of fresh shrimp on one visit. We so enjoyed seeing his observatory and all of his beautiful art . I especially enjoyed his ship model collection since I share that same hobby. Clarence helped me update the Sanders family tree with information on his branch. I will miss my unique cousin!
