Blythe Dorothy Louise Lackey

Dorothy Louise Lackey Blythe, 94, of Huntersville went to be with the Lord on Thursday. April 8, 2021. She was born in Iredell County to Ernest and Nina Lackey. Louise was raised and lived her life in Huntersville.

Louise and her husband, James Frank Blythe, ran New Method Laundry and Cleaners in Cornelius. She was the last surviving charter member of Christ Community Church. Prior to CCC, she was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Huntersville where she taught Sunday School, VBS and helped found the preschool. She was a seamstress making clothes and drapes and enjoyed her church, travel, and her family.

Her husband, James Frank Blythe; a sister, Ruby Guin; and a son-in-law, Tom Moore, predeceased Louise.

Her daughters, Barbara Snowden (Wilson) of Currituck, NC, Jennifer Moore of Boone; son, Doug Scott Blythe of New York; grandchildren Beth Hayford (Brett), Casey Johns (Jarred), and Tylor Moore; great grandchildren, Thad Hayford and Sawyer Moore survive Louise.

The memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 8, 2021, at 11:00 AM at James Funeral Home in Huntersville. There will be a reception following the service. The interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Christ Community Church of Huntersville and/or the Baptist Childrens Home. James Funeral Home, of Huntersville, is serving the family. I just read this and I am so sorry to hear of Mrs. Blythe’s passing. Such a special lady with such a caring family. I am thinking of you all. I pray that the MANY memories that you all cherish of times spent with her will comfort you in the days ahead.
