Evelyn Etheridge Sharber, 91 of 1256 Campground Road, Elizabeth City, NC died Saturday, June 27, 2015 at her residence. A native of Camden County, NC she was the daughter of the late Winfred T. Etheridge and Mae Ives Etheridge and the widow of J. Lockwood Sharber. She was a member of Newland United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women and a homemaker.
She is survived by four daughters, Ann S. Chambers and husband Harold, Laura S. Parker and husband Richard, and Mary S. Temple and friend Ron Stevens, all of Elizabeth City, NC and Annette S. Williams and husband David of Belvidere, NC; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; brother-in-law, William Sharber of Elizabeth City, NC. She was pre-deceased by a sister, Gladys E. Eason and a son-in-law, Willie Temple. Special thanks is give to caregivers, Barbara Woodbury, Lynette Beasley, Earline Whitehurst, Caroline Carver, and Edna Bagley; to Dr. Karl Brandspigel and staff, and to Albemarle Hospice.
A funeral service will be held Monday, June 29, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Twiford Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Dan Baer officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home, immediately after the service in the funeral home lobby, and at other times at the residence. Burial will be in West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Newland United Methodist Church, 1686 Morgan’s Corner Road, Elizabeth City, NC 27909. Special childhood memories of going to Mary & Laura’s & spending night.Ms Evelyn was always a gentle person who never seemed to raise her voice at anyone. My thoughts & prayers are with all of you.
Our parents were such good friends. I’m sure there is a grand reunion happening. Ann, Annette, Laura and Mary…I know the loss that you feel. You were and are always there for me so please know that I am here for all of you. So many fond memories and photos to keep your parents close to my heart. May your memories and your closeness bring you consolation. Love and prayers.
Mary & Family, I’m sorry to read about your Mom’s passing…she alway’s had a smile and a kind “Hello”, whenever I was home to visit either at church or delivering plates with Aunt Ann .

I was so sorry to hear of Ms. Evelyn’s passing. Bless her heart, she fought an awesome battle but now she is at rest ! At least now, she can still tell Mr. Lockwood that he STILL can’t have sausage…GOD be with all of you. It was a pleasure to know the Sharber family.
