I extend my sincere sympathy to the entire family. I have fond memories of Acme TV. Malinda and I recently found an news article dated April 30, 1973 about the opening of the new relocated shop in which both Sam and Hallett are pictured. We scanned the article and I would be happy to share it with the family.

    Dear Evans family,

I am terribly sorry to hear the news about losing Mr. Hallett , a really fine man. I recall from early childhood onward that my father (Melvin Dixon) always enjoyed doing business with him and thought him a friend . Mr. Hallett came to Dad’s funeral in 2003 during the aftermath of Hurricane Isabel at a time when very few people were able to get out, a gesture that we appreciated very much. I celebrate that Hallett Evans lived a long and productive life with many friends and regret that I am not in town to pay respects personally. Sincere condolences.
