Hampton Ross Wolfe III, 65, of Kill Devil Hills, NC died Sunday, May 8, 2022, at Chesapeake Regional Medical Center.

Born in Portsmouth, VA on September 5, 1956, he was the son of the late Florence and Hampton Wolfe, Jr.

Having served his country honorably, Hampton was a veteran of the United States Navy. He later joined the Patriot Guard Riders, who serve as a motorcycle funeral escort for our fallen military.

Lovingly known as Hambone, Hampton was known around the Outer Banks for his musical talent. He was a fixture at the Jolly Roger Restaurant and Kelly’s Restaurant.

Hampton is survived by his wife, Kimberly Morris Wolfe; and son, Dusty Wolfe.

Memorial donations may be made to Interfaith Community Outreach, PO Box 1663, Kill Devil Hills, NC 27948.

I am sorry for your loss. I used to frequent the jolly Roger just to hang out and always had a good time with Hambone doing karaoke.. my thoughts and prayers for your family and hope you can find peace during this time.

I met Hambone while working at the Colington Harbour Gate. He would brighten my day with a kind word and sometimes desert! He would bring the pup by to say hi as well. I didn’t know him real well but I knew he was a good man with a big heart. He will certainly be missed. Debbie

i am so sorry about hambone he was like a father too me he was at my last wedding he was happy he is a loveable person that i will miss i saw him a week before he died he was at the store to see me i loved him he always made a point to talk to me if he was busy i thought i got close to dusty i call him my brother i real miss u hambone but u are in a better place cat is helping there sending love to u my father i love u see u soon love u toni and sparkdoo

Hambone, we have been missing U. We love U and k and I will not forget our special song from u that U always sang to us every time we were at Jolly Rodgers. Don’t Close Your Eyes. That is our song that none can ever take away. We will always remember that song. RIP N PEACE BABY
