Hazel Vera Bailey, formerly of Jones Ave. in Elizabeth City, NC passed this life on July 16, 2003. She passed into eternity to be with her Lord at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Goldsboro, NC. Her son, Ebert L. Bailey, Jr. and family were by her side during her illness.
Born in Winfall, NC, November 21, 1912, her parents were William D. Miller and Vera Ann Turner Miller. She was the widow of Ebert L. Bailey, Sr. and a member of First United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women.
Mrs. Bailey is survived by a son, Ebert L. Bailey, Jr. and wife, Patricia, of Goldsboro, NC; two grandsons, Ebert L. Bailey, III, and wife, Betsy, of Apex, NC and Ronald M. Bailey and fianc, Gaye, of Raleigh, NC; two great grandsons, Michael and Matthew Bailey of Apex, NC and a sister, Ann Miller Byrum of Durham, NC.
A graveside service will be conducted on Sunday, July 20, 2003 at 3:00 PM in Old Hollywood Cemetery with Rev. Clyde Denny officiating. The family will receive friends at Twifords Memorial Chapel, 405 E. Church St., Elizabeth City Saturday evening from 6:00 PM until 7:30 PM and immediately following the service, at the graveside.
