Raish fished all of his life and was a scallop boat captain for Wanchese Fish Company for 30 years.

He was devoted to his family and a faithful man of God. He has numerous friends up and down the East Coast. After retiring at 73, he could be found working on his beach cottages, at the church, in the garden, spending time with family, or riding around on his tractor.

He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Monday, November 15, 2021, at Fair Haven United Methodist Church in Rodanthe. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, November 16, 2021, at the church with Rev. Susie Fitch-Slater and Rev. David Daniels officiating with burial to follow in the family cemetery. When the Lord called for Captain Raish he must have needed someone for a gigantic endeavor. The Captain could certainly get things done, I believe if he had tried he could have spun straw into gold. The commercial fishing has lost one of the best and he will be sorely missed by all. Our condolences to Mrs. Elsie and the family
