Jean Burgess Harrison of Hertford, NC died Sunday, April 17, 2022, at The Citadel at Elizabeth City.
A native of Old Trap, NC, she was the daughter of the late Iredell Sawyer Burgess and Clarence Jones Burgess.
Jean was a member of Hertford United Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star – Indian Ridge Chapter #319.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Wright Harrison, Jr.; a son, Frank Troy Harrison; three sisters; and one brother.
Mrs. Burgess is survived by a son, William A. Harrison of Kill Devil Hills, NC; and two grandchildren, Heather and W. Brandon Harrison.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, April 21, 2022, at Still Waters Baptist Church followed by a reception and luncheon.

Condolences for the family of “Jean Burgess Harrison”
Mrs. Harrison was a beautiful lady inside and out! I am truly blessed to have known her. Praying for her sweet family during this time.
I worked with Jean many years ago at Dr Lucas office in Edenton , she was always very kind to me and she and John let me and my children use their beach house on a couple of occasions ! We lost touch when I moved to Durham but I will always think of her fondly , I am praying for you all , at this sad time , God Bless

So Sorry to learn of the Loss of “Sweet Jean”, I will for sure miss fixin’ her hair every Monday @ 12:00 I always knew what Day & Time it was! Jean came to see me in Hurricanes, Torential rain, Sleet & Snow, it was her big outing besides Sunday church & meeting the lady’s at the Baum center for game time ! What a pleasure she was ! May she Rest now ! (Another Angel above)!

Condolences. Enjoyed the personality of this sweet lady. She was a dresser- everything matched from earrings to shoes. Great fun times with Jean and Joan when they helped with shrine Club food preparation for our Edward Jones luncheons. Best memory is when my son was at my work and Mrs Jean came in with all her Bling rings/ my son said “where did you get sll those rings”- her reply Cracker Jack box .Today I still remember these good laughs.
